Capital One Announces New Lounge at JFK Airport

Capital One, a leading financial corporation, has recently announced plans to establish a new lounge at Terminal 4 of the prestigious John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York. This strategic move will place Capital One in the same league as American Express Centurion Lounge and Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club, forming a trio of credit card-branded airport lounges in this terminal.

The new JFK lounge is an extension of Capital One’s successful lounges at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Denver International Airport (DEN), and Dulles International Airport (IAD) near Washington, D.C. The JFK lounge is set to become Capital One’s flagship lounge in New York, offering a range of unique amenities that mirror the city’s iconic offerings.

The lounge will feature an in-house bodega, providing a variety of bagels and coffees. Additionally, a cheesemonger will be on-site to serve a range of delicacies from the Hudson Valley and the broader New York region. These offerings will be complemented by cured meats and traditional accompaniments, paired with a selection of special wines and beers.

In a unique initiative, Capital One plans to collaborate with a local brewery to create an exclusive “Perfect Airport Beer” to be served in the lounge. The identity of the brewery partner remains undisclosed at this time.

The design of the lounge will incorporate local elements, with Capital One partnering with Brooklyn-based Shakuff Custom Lighting to create a signature hanging glass sculpture. This centerpiece will draw inspiration from the local flora of the New York City area. Additionally, Capital One will work with local artists to curate a collection of locally inspired artwork for the lounge.

The JFK lounge will also feature Capital One’s popular amenities, including a full-service coffee bar, a grab-and-go food counter, a tapas-style lounge menu, and shower suites. With a size of 13,000 square feet, it will be the second-largest credit card lounge in Terminal 4, following the Amex’s Centurion Lounge.

While the seating capacity of the lounge has not been disclosed, Capital One acknowledges the potential for overcrowding in one of JFK’s busiest terminals.

The official opening date for the lounge is yet to be announced. We will provide more updates, including additional amenities, in the forthcoming months. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
